Red Toyotas and Blue Buicks

We got a new car. And that might not sound so special to some of you, but when it's the first car your family's gotten in a dozen years, it's kind of a big deal! Here's a photo I took of some of my family members next to it a couple weeks ago:

It's a red Toyota Sienna minivan!
Our old car was a Buick LeSabre. I kinda remember when we bought the blue car, like 2002 or 2003 or something. I was so proud of myself for keeping baby Esther occupied by feeding her Cheerios while our parents filled out pages of paperwork for about a century or so. One Cheerio for Esther, two for me...another one for Esther, two more for me... Mom and Daddy told me how helpful I was being, but now that I think of it, I have a strange suspicion that maybe it was me they were trying to keep occupied. After all, Esther was the one well-strapped into her stroller, not me.
The day we brought the Buick home. And yes, that is a face you see in the window.
A few years later, Esther and I were driving our own car:
(Toy car that is!)

And these, my friend, are a couple of the last photos I took of the blue car before it was towed away.

I hope you enjoyed this post about our new van, and the story about how we got our old car!
