Hello, lovely crafters! Today, I want to share with you a simple design for making your own pillowcase. I love making pillowcases because they're pretty simple to make, and they make thoughtful gifts for loved ones....or look beautiful on your own bed! If you can sew, you can make one of these pillowcases.
1 yd 44" wide fabric in whatever color or print you like

Here's what to do:
2. Turn the "bag" inside out (so now the right sides are together) and pin along the same seam you just sewed. This time, sew along the pinned area using a seam slightly wider than 1/4". You have just sewn a French seam, which is stronger than a regular seam, and a lot less likely to fray with repeated washings and use. I also think it looks nicer, especially if you're giving this as a gift!
4. Finish pinning and sewing the hem, and iron all the seams. You have just made your very own pillowcase!
You can make pillowcases from nearly any fabric you can think of. They make great gifts for friends and family members, especially if you pick a special print.
